The Greek Castle of Iraq al Amir is located in the Wadi Seer Valley which is a short 10 kilometer drive west from the 8th circle which happens to be the division line between Amman and Wadi Seer. The remains date back to the 2nd century and instead of a moat, today Iraq al Amir is bordered by a wreckage of rocks that once formed the castle. Also, the gardens that once encircled the castle have been taken over by Jordanian homes and shrub. Nevertheless it is still an interesting site to visit for a lovely morning or afternoon trip of one of the very few Hellenistic sites existing in Jordan.
